10/01/08 - Well the 2008 race season is over now and it has been a great year! Not only for race results but I really exceeded my expectations for everything this season! After coming back from shoulder surgery my persistence and training really showed that I am capable from making a huge comeback and huge improvements in my riding after such a major injury.

But none of this really could have been possible without the support and help from my sponsors. I want to take a moment to thank each of my sponsors for the 2008 season individually because they have all been amazing this year!

First off I want to thank Tomac Mountain Bikes. Joel, Clarke, and everyone else... You guys have been so awesome this year! You have been unbelievably helpful and all of you have given me NOTHING be the best support I have ever had from a company and more. Seriously, you guys have been so great and I really appreciate everything you guys have done for me. I really look forward to working with you guys for the 2009 season and beyond. You guys are the best.

Secondly, I would like to thank a recent sponsor I picked up... RideSFO. Phil and Anthony, you guys have been so great this year. I am so pumped to finally get together with you guys and the company. You guys really have a great style that I haven't seen from any other small company out there. You guys really put so much heart into the company and rider support. I really just want to say thanks for everything!

Next up I wanted to thank everyone at Scotts Valley Cycle Sport in Scotts Valley. It is unbelievably helpful having a great local shops support. Thanks a bunch Mike, Andrew, and Tyler.

I also wanted to thank SixSixOne for the years of support. Everything you guys have done has made racing so much more affordable for me and also more importantly kept me safe over the last 3 years. Thank you so much!

And finally, I want to thank everyone else in my life. My girlfriend Emily for putting up with me leaving for long weekends and getting up at all hours of the day and night to ride and practice. =] Love you lots! I also want to thank my family for being so supportive of me and my crazy/dangerous sport. You guys have been so great! Last but not least all of my friends. If it wasn't for you guys, I probably would not have stepped on a bike again. You guys got me riding almost 5 years ago now. Even with all of my injuries and everything, I am so thankful for everything. I have done a bunch of traveling and countless hours riding and looking back, I would not want to change a thing. Thank all of you!

I cannot wait for the 2009 season. I will be racing in Category 1 (Expert / Semi-Pro). I cannot wait to ride hard for everyone and get some good results.

I am also on the hunt for new additions to my list of sponsors for the 2009 season. If you are a company and would like to get in touch with me, CLICK HERE and fill out the form on the page. I would love to hear from you.

Also be sure to mark your calendar for the upcoming Bicycle Expo and Swap, presented by RideSFO.  The 2-day event takes place November 29th and 30th, at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.  I'm sure you remember the Velo Swap of past years, but Nor-Cal has been lacking a premier Expo. Fortunately, the good guys of RideSFO have decided to bring it back bigger and better (and more affordable) than before.

Booth spaces are available for all levels of participation, and the rates are staggered to maximize the value of your participation.  Just give a call to Phil and company at 1-800-962-7497 to make arrangements, or check out www.ridesfo.com for details.

Keep in mind the Bay Area is a hot-spot of everything bike related, and you can hit your target market with this public show.  Whether you are a dealer with old inventory to move, a sales rep with a sample account that needs to get cleaned up, a manufacturer with a great line that needs an audience, or a bike enthusiast wants to find NOS Superbe Pro shift levers, the Bicycle Expo and Swap is the ticket!

9/8/08 - This last weekend I got out on the Primer with my good friend Sean Walton of www.evisionsphoto.com and took some sweet new action shots out on the local trails. Here are a few of the shots (the rest can be found on the Riding / Racing Photos page):

8/28/08 - I know it has been a while since I last updated my site. I have been really busy with becoming a new uncle, changing jobs, and still working on getting settled into my new place. I have also been putting in some serious cross country hours on my Snyper.

I have also been dedicating some time to finally getting my Tomac Primer 220 built! I actually took it on its maiden voyage this morning!

Here it is FINALLY complete!

And here it is this morning at the local trailhead (sorry for the camera phone picture):

I cannot thank Joel from Tomac Mountain Bikes enough for making this build possible. It has been a long time in the making and this mornings ride made it all worth while! The bike performed perfectly and rode super smooth over the roughest stuff on the trails. The geometry on the Primer was SO nice. I really cannot wait to bring it on some more gnarly trails and really give it hell. =] Another thing I was really pumped on was the new 2009 Fox 40-RC2. It felt amazing compared to the previous years versions and I cannot wait to have it fully broken in.

I also want to thank Phil at RideSFO and all of my other friends who helped me get this bike built. So awesome! =]

As for races for the rest of the season, I am still waiting on some finalized dates. For now, its time to put some serious time on the Primer and get nice and comfortable on it for the races later this year!

7/16/08 - I got a few photos from this weekend that I took finally on my computer. Still no racing shots available yet. I will post those up as soon as I get any.

So this first photo was a shot of my car/bike on my way into Downieville. From Santa Cruz it took me about 4 1/2 hours to drive there. It was really smokey in the valley from fires all around CA. Pretty crazy.

I ended up sleeping in the back of my car for the weekend (which actually isn't too bad). I am able to fold down my seats so I can sleep somewhat comfortably. haha! This picture was actually taken out of my door where I parked/camped in town. Downieville is a very beautiful place. One thing I didn't even think of while I was out there was bears. I actually got woken up one of the nights by a bear smacking his paw on my window. Scared me so much waking up to a really loud thud and scratch noise on my window at 3:30am. Maybe being so close to the river was a bad idea?

This last photo I got on my camera was of my Tomac Snyper being proudly displayed at the RideSFO booth. Also in the expo area I had the pleasure of meeting some really awesome pro riders. Nathan Riddle, Dan Atherton, and freeride legend Wade Simmons to name drop a few. It was really cool to be able to meet such inspiring riders.

As for the race, it was probably the most epic DH race I have ever done in my whole biking career. I really hope I can find some racing photos soon. 17 miles of DH is pretty nuts. haha! Stay posted.

7/14/08 - This weekend was the Downieville Classic. The race was totally brutal and awesome! This was my first time racing the 17 mile downhill trail and all I can say is WOW. It was by far the most hardcore DH race I have ever done. I ended up getting 4th place with a time of one hour and four minutes. I am very happy with the top 5 finish on this crazy of a race.

I want to make some big shout outs to my sponsors Tomac Mountain Bikes and RideSFO. You guys rock!  I was a lot of fun kicking back with Phil and Anthony of RideSFO the whole weekend. Good times! I also could not have pulled this finish without the support of the guys at Tomac for getting me on my Snyper 140. This bike was perfect for this weekends race.

Thanks to all of my sponsors and stay tuned for photos, I haven't been able to find any online yet.

7/10/08 -  Tomorrow evening I leave for the Downieville Classic! I will be there through Sunday and I cannot wait to ride! I haven't been to the epic 17 mile downhill trail in a few years now and I'm really looking forward to racing it for the first time on my Tomac Snyper. Stay tuned for a write up with photos etc. I should have results posted by Monday morning.

Wish me luck!

6/23/08 -  This Sunday was the CCCX Finals in Salinas CA. I ended up finishing 4th Place in the final race but in the whole series (8 races) I pulled a 1st Place over all out of 34 people in my class!

Rocking my new Series Champion Jersey!

I posted a couple photos from practice and my race run in my Photos sections. Be sure to check them out!

Also with this series win, I will be moving up into the Expert category starting after the Downieville Classic next month! I am really excited to be moving up into expert this year. I was originally planning on moving up to expert for the 2009 season. I am really pumped how strong of a comeback I have made since my shoulder surgery in September. Big props to my physical therapist Harry for helping me recover so quickly and get back into shape for this season.

I cannot thank Joel at Tomac Mountain Bikes enough for all of the awesome support this season and making this all possible, I could not have done so well without it! I am totally pumped on the bikes and cannot wait to get my Primer out on the gnarly trails/courses later this season.

Also big props to Phil at RideSFO and the 661 guys and gals. Thanks so much for everything! I look forward to more great results and more awesome riding this year!

Next race is the Downieville Classic on July 13th, one of the most epic/hardcore DH races in US. 17 miles of DH and a full hour of racing.
